Patrick Sivils, a Junior at Texas A&M University - Central Texas, was interviewed regarding his experience using the Jones & Bartlett Learning Cloud Labs included with Digital Forensics, Investigation, and Response, Fourth Edition. Can you tell us about your background?
I currently attend Texas A&M University - Central Texas. I am in my junior year to obtain my bachelor’s degree in computer information systems with a focus on cybersecurity.
Why did you choose to study cybersecurity?
I’ve always loved technology, even before pursuing my degree. The things that can be achieved through using computers have always fascinated me. I also believe that any degree that is within the computer science category is a smart choice. With the advancements in technology that are happening constantly, there will always be technology-based jobs available.
How have Cloud Labs helped you to learn complex topics in cybersecurity? Do you find using Cloud Labs and the hands-on experience helps you retain knowledge better through practice?
The best method of learning for me has always been hands-on. Cloud Labs has helped me have this experience while I attend college through online classes. Cloud Labs hands-on experience has helped me to excel at every exam I have taken throughout the semester.
