Burlington, MA, March 9, 2021-- The Textbook & Academic Authors Association (TAA) recently named Jones & Bartlett Learning’s The Essentials of Computer Organization and Architecture, Fifth Edition as a 2021 William Holmes McGuffey Longevity Award winner. The William Holmes McGuffey Longevity Award recognizes textbooks and learning materials whose excellence has been demonstrated over time.

“We’re thrilled to see Essentials of Computer Organization and Architecture honored with this award and greatly appreciate our authors’ hard work and commitment to the success of this title, ” said Ned Hinman, Product Manager at Jones & Bartlett Learning.

"The Essentials of Computer Organization and Architecture, together with the associated online learning materials provide an excellent introduction to the Computer Science curriculum. It addresses a very technical and detail-oriented topic in an approachable way that makes Computer Architecture understandable for students who might otherwise struggle. It covers a tremendous breadth of information that makes it easy for any instructor to select the specific concepts to cover in a course,” says the judge from TAA.

Overall, six textbooks were selected to receive the 2021 William Holmes McGuffey Longevity Awards. Works are judged by textbook authors and subject matter experts for their merits in four areas: pedagogy, content/scholarship, writing, and appearance/design.

The awardees will be recognized during an online textbook awards ceremony at 1 p.m. ET on Friday, March 19, 2021.
