Richard R Abood, BS Pharm, JD-Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Thomas J Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, University of the Pacific, Stockton, California

Richard Abood received his B.S. in Pharmacy and Juris Doctorate degrees from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. He has worked extensively in both community and hospital pharmacy practice. Professor Abood is Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Pacific and prior to this position was Professor of Pharmacy Administration at the University of Wyoming. While at the University of Wyoming he served concurrently for several years as the Executive Director of the Wyoming Pharmaceutical Association. Professor Abood has given numerous presentations and authored several publications in the areas of pharmacy and health care law. In 2002, he was awarded the Eberhardt Teacher/Scholar Award, Pacific’s highest honor for excellence in both teaching and scholarship. He has been active in several state and national pharmacy organizations, having served as president of the San Joaquin Pharmacists Association and president and board member of the American Society for Pharmacy Law. Professor Abood has also served as a consultant on pharmacy law issues to law firms, state and federal government, and pharmacy organizations.
