James F. McKenzie, PhD, MPH, MCHES-Professor, Department of Public Health Sciences, Penn State Hershey, Professor Emeritus, Ball State University

Jim McKenzie is a Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences at Penn State Hershey and a Professor Emeritus at Ball State University. He earned his PhD from The Ohio State University, and a MPH from the University of Michigan. He has also served on the faculties at Bowling Green State University and Mankato State University. He is a master certified health education specialist (MCHES) and currently serves on NCHEC's Division Board for Certification of Health Education Specialists. He is co-author of four textbooks: Planning, Implementing, and Evaluating Health Promotion Programs:  A Primer (6th ed., in press, Benjamin Cummings), Introduction to Community Health (7th ed., 2012, Jones & Bartlett Publishers), Principles and Foundations of Health Promotion and Education (5th ed., 2012, Benjamin Cummings), and Research Methods in Health Promotion and Education (2nd ed., 2011, Jones & Bartlett). He is a member of Society of Public Health Education, American Association for Health Education, American School Health Association, and Eta Sigma Gamma.

Robert R. Pinger, PhD-Professor Emeritus, Ball State University

Robert R. Pinger is a Professor in the Department of Physiology and Health Science at Ball State University and has been the Director of the Department’s Public Health Entomology Laboratory since 1977. He earned his MS and PhD from Iowa State University and completed postdoctoral training in medical entomology at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. He has taught at the Federal University of Amazonas, Manaus, Brazil and Yeungnam University, Daegu, Republic of Korea. He is co-author of two textbooks: Drugs: Issues for Today (3rd ed., McGraw-Hill) and Introduction to Community Health  (6th ed., in press, Jones & Bartlett Publishers) and more than 25 scientific articles. He is a member of American Public Health Association, the Entomological Society of America and Sigma Xi, the Research Society of America.

Jerome E. Kotecki, HSD-Ball State University

Jerome E. Kotecki is a Professor of Health Science in the Department of Physiology and Health Science at Ball State University. Dr. Kotecki earned his doctorate in health science and his masters’ degree in exercise science from Indiana University. Professor Kotecki has published over 30 scientific articles and is co-author of the best selling textbooks An Introduction to Community Health and Physical Activity and Health: An Interactive Approach. Dr. Kotecki’s current research is focused on the impact of lifestyle medicine on chronic diseases. He is the lead scientist on several large healthy lifestyle studies focusing on the role of health-care professionals in health counseling.
