  • “It focuses on CP application and is organized as a learning text rather than a reference text.”
—Jonathon Waugh, University of Alabama at Birmingham

  • "The book covers anatomical structure/function, cardiopulmonary disorders, fundamentals of pharmacology, patient education, routes of drug administration, calculations, and various pharmacologic therapies for disease processes -- including antibiotic therapy. Each of the 22 chapters contains an outline, objectives, key terms, and an introduction. The text flows well with color figures/images, tables, and "Point to Remember" boxes to illustrate key concepts. Each chapter ends with a summary, learning goals, critical thinking questions, website links for further reading, review questions, and a case study. The end of the book contains appendixes for 100 commonly prescribed medications for cardiopulmonary care, commonly confused drug names, reporting medical errors, answer keys to chapter review questions, and a well-done glossary and index.

This is an outstanding book for respiratory care students and will serve as a valuable resource for respiratory therapists as well."
