Overview

EMS providers learn the skills that allow them to give state-of-the-art care at the scene. Unfortunately, how to document that care so that it is not called into question two days or even two years down the road is often not taught in-depth. In order to help EMTs with this important subject, we assembled this water resistant, pocket-sized guide for providers at all levels, examining many of the common calls EMTs receive and following a standard protocol for the preparation of EMS run reports.

ShowKey Features

  • Fully updated medical content
  • New information includes “Lethal Differentials” where appropriate, spinal immobilization clearance in the field, use of restraints, and specific childbirth emergencies
  • Includes Common Medical Abbreviations table and documentation tips

American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS)

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) provides education and practice management services for orthopaedic surgeons and allied health professionals. The Academy also serves as an advocate for improved patient care and informs the public about the science of orthopaedics. Founded at Northwestern University as a not-for-profit organization in 1933, the Academy has grown from a small organization serving less than 500 members to the world's largest medical association of musculoskeletal specialists. The Academy now serves about 24,000 members internationally.
