Sharon Ostalecki, PhD

Sharon Ostalecki, PhD, is the founder and executive director of Helping Our Pain & Exhaustion (H.O.P.E.), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance knowledge and awareness of fibromyalgia. Dr. Ostalecki graduated from Eastern University with a Bachelor‘s degree in science and a Masters in physics. She holds a PhD in nutrition and specializes in fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. Her practice is in Novi, Michigan. For the past 8 years Dr. Ostalecki has lectured internationally and has written and published articles on fibromyalgia. She authored the book: Fibromyalgia: The Complete Guide from Medical Experts and Patients. (Jones & Bartlett, 2008) and is the executive producer of the documentary, Fibromyalgia: Fitting the Pieces Together, (Mort Crim Communications, Inc., 2008).  For the past 20 years she has lived with fibromyalgia, and brings her personal insights into her writing, lectures and clinical practice. Dr. Ostalecki has been involved in many professional, community, and outreach programs including: the Advisory Committee on Pain and Symptom Management (ACPSM) in Lansing, Michigan. She serves as the Michigan State Leader for the American Pain Foundation, and is a subcommittee member of the Michigan Governor’s Web site on health awareness and an active member in the National Institute of Health Council of Public Representatives (COPR) Associates Program.
