Mary Elizabeth O'Brien is Professor of Nursing at the Catholic University of America.  She is also a parish nurse and the author of seven titles, four of which, A Nurse's Handbook of Spiritual Care: Standing on Holy Ground, Spirituality in Nursing: Standing on Holy Ground, Second Edition,  Prayer in Nursing: The Spirituality of Compassionate Caregiving, and  Parish Nursing: Healthcare Ministry within the Church, are published by Jones and Bartlett.
