Instructor Resources: PowerPoints, Answer Key

Perfect for preparing for the RHIA and RHIT exams!

The Comprehensive Review Guide for Health Information serves as a personal tutor for HIM students to review the major learning competencies that will be tested on the exams. This review guide comes complete with a combination review book/workbook, audio tutorials, and a CD-ROM. The workbook section, divided by knowledge clusters, contains short answer, fill in the blank, and matching questions to assess the students' understanding of the competency after using the comprehensive review book section and listening to audio recordings. At the end of every knowledge cluster, a multiple choice test simulates the questions on the national RHIA and RHIT exams.

The Comprehensive Review Guide for Health Information contains:

  • 7 hours of online audio recordings of a personal tutor walking the student through the major knowledge clusters
  •  A workbook thoroughly reviewing each health information cluster content area with objectives, tables, and graphics followed by review questions.
  • CD-ROM with online mock exams to simulate the real-time exam.

This is the only review guide covering the major contents areas with this combination of exam questions and audio tutorials to meet the needs of audio, tactile and visual learners.

Topics include:

  • Health Data Structure, Content and Standards
  • Healthcare Delivery Systems
  • Information Technology and Systems
  • Clinical Classification Systems and Reimbursement Methodologies
  • Health Statistics and Research
  • Quality Management and Performance Improvement
  • Healthcare Privacy, Confidentiality, Legal and Ethical Issues

  • "I am VERY IMPRESSED with the Review Guide by Tyson-Howard and Thomas.
We are planning to use it beginning next semester for our Review Class.  I am particularly impressed by the outlines at the beginning of the chapters. Given the volume of information the student must cover, this helps them focus on the highlights within each section.  Please let the authors know how grateful I am for such a Study Guide.  Again, my congratulations and thanks to the authors and to Jones Bartlett for the publication.  "
