  • "The flashcards are organized into 12 sections that cover the essential topics of patient hook-up and measurement, diagnostic equipment, calibrations and montages, artifacts and troubleshooting, policies and procedures, sleep stage scoring, event scoring, electrocardiography, reports and calculations, sleep disorders, drug effects on sleep and terms and definitions. Each section is composed of several flashcards with various pertinent questions. Helpful illustrations that enhance understanding of the concepts accompany the questions. Each flashcard on a question or concept also indicates the section to which it is related and references specific pages in the author's book, Essentials of Polysomnography: A Training Guide and Reference for Sleep Technicians (Jones & Bartlett Learning, 2010) for further study and review.

This is a worthy contribution to the field of sleep medicine. The flashcards encompass a wide variety of essential topics in sleep medicine and the set serves as a good study aid and review for sleep technologists as well as students of sleep medicine studying for the board examination."
