Jones & Bartlett Learning Acquires Hazardous Materials: Managing the Incident Training Program from Hildebrand and Noll Associates, Inc.

Sudbury, MA, January 17, 2011 – Today, Jones & Bartlett Learning announced a new agreement with Mike Hildebrand and Greg Noll of Hildebrand and Noll Associates, Inc to publish the next edition of their Hazardous Materials: Managing the Incident training program. Currently in its third edition, the release of Hazardous Materials: Managing the Incident, Fourth Edition is planned to coincide with the publication of the National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) 2013 edition of NFPA® 472, Standard for Competence of Responders to Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Incidents.

In 1988, the first edition of Hazardous Materials: Managing the Incident transformed hazardous materials training for both technicians and on-scene incident commanders through its presentation of a systematic “Eight-Step Process” on how to respond to hazardous materials incidents. Over the past decade, Jones & Bartlett Learning has transformed fire service education through the creation of innovative, state-of-the-art teaching and learning systems which feature robust suites of instructor, student, and technology-based learning tools. Together, Jones & Bartlett Learning and authors Mike Hildebrand and Greg Noll will work to revolutionize hazardous materials training.

“Our new relationship with Jones & Bartlett Learning’s curriculum development team presents many opportunities to improve our instructional package to make the instructor’s job easier and provide options for curriculum delivery,” says Greg Noll.

Mike Hildebrand added, “Our goal as authors is to provide the highest quality training program that will help prepare future generations of emergency responders for their mission. I am excited to work with the staff at Jones & Bartlett Learning to achieve that goal with the new edition of Hazardous Materials: Managing the Incident.”

In addition to the forthcoming Hazardous Materials: Managing the Incident, Fourth Edition, Jones & Bartlett Learning currently publishes Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations and many other best-selling fire service training programs. For more information, visit www.jblearning.com.
