Ty Field, Chief Executive Officer

Ty FieldAs Chief Executive Officer, Ty oversees the development and execution of company strategy, innovation and production, transforming the Jones & Bartlett vision into improved learning outcomes for millions of customers worldwide. Prior to joining Jones & Bartlett, Ty held several positions for Thomson Higher Education for 16 years, including Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. While at Thomson Higher Education, Ty participated in many innovative strategic projects and oversaw more than 12 acquisitions and integrations. Ty holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Alabama.

James Homer, President

James HomerAs President of Jones & Bartlett Learning, Jim is responsible for implementing the strategic and tactical direction required to build a world-class educational services company. Prior to joining Jones & Bartlett, Jim was the Senior Vice President of Pearson Learning Solutions, (a division of Pearson Education) overseeing all daily global operations for the group. Under his leadership, Pearson Learning Solutions became the primary provider of online curriculum development services and customized course materials in the post-secondary and career markets. Jim also played a significant role in the success of Pearson’s transformational acquisition of LMS provider, eCollege. Jim’s background includes 15 years experience in business development, acquisitions, general management, sales, marketing, and product development for organizations such as Proctor & Gamble, MCI Communications and The Thomson Corporation. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from American University and has attended executive business programs at Harvard University and Duke University.

Alison Pendergast, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer

As Chief Marketing Officer at Jones & Bartlett Learning, Alison oversees the development and implementation of all corporate and product marketing strategy fueling the growth of the company's brand within the education industry. Prior to joining Jones & Bartlett in early 2009, Alison spent 19 years at Pearson Education, where she held senior leadership roles in marketing, strategy and business development with Pearson’s Higher Education Division. While at Pearson, Alison played a key role in developing and launching CourseSmart, the first industry-wide platform for digital textbook distribution (www.coursesmart.com). In addition, she helped launch numerous other new digital products and services including Pearson Advantage; Research Navigator (www.researchnavigator.com); and AccessText Network (www.accesstext.org), a new national portal designed to help students with disabilities acquire print textbooks in alternate formats. Alison is a Distinguished Military Graduate from the University of Connecticut Army ROTC program, and she received a Master's degree in Business Administration from Norwich University.
